Final conclusion

In conclusion all pre-production is massively important in media products this helps to divert the risk of making a media product such as a film, TV series, magazine and many others.  Finance is massively important because if the finance is not done and planned to high level it can then result in not having enough money for the film production or film distribution which would be a disappointment after all the work and commitment that has been done. For an example getting copyright before the film is filmed is important because then the team can save money because if the team are getting the copyright permission during production then the person can charge more or say no which means a massive issue. However if it is done before production then there is more of a chance that less money will be spent and if the person says no then it can be corrected. Logistics is important for a film especially because film is very risky as money is spent on the film before a single tick...

Pre-production processes

The main processes in the development stage are: Ideas being generated  Pre-visualisation images are being drawn  Financing is sought  Production company is sought Treatment (project outline) is written   The main processes in the pre-production stage are: Getting the rights the material (example Harry Potter getting permission of J.K Rowling) Storyboards are designed  Screenplay is written  Studio time is booked  Locations are scouted and secured  Auditions are held Actors and crew are hired  Rehearsals take place  Sets are build  Costumes designed and fitted The development stage is carefully done because it is making sure that the film can be green lit and start to be prepared for production. The first thing that needs to be done is generating ideas because otherwise their will be no possibility of a film being made without a seed of an idea. This leads to having a treatment which is a clear proj...

Codes of practice in film making

Unions for personnel   Trade unions is an organisation made up of people, the aim of a trade union is to protect and get higher pay for the people they represent. The three main trade unions for film or media based people are Equity, BECTU and PACT these three trade unions represent different types of jobs and people.  Equity represents actors or actresses and protects them and if an actor or actress has an issue with being paid for example their trade union will step in and negotiate the issue.  BECTU represents people such as technicians, screenplay writers and other crew the trade union will look after them if any issue were brought about with their pay or health and safety.  PACT represents freelance producers who jump from project to project the PACT union will protect its members and if any issues were brought to light then they would have there union rep sort out the issue, sometimes as far as court.   Leg...

Logistics of production

Logistics It is essential to budget and pre-plan expenditure for a media production because there are so many people involved and it needs to plan to the minute and the hour to make the production run smoothly and be kept on track. A few things that need to be considered is paying cast, crew, technicians, editors and so on  something else that should also be considered is being in the right location and having everyone there and ready. The risk of any media product is very high but it is even higher with a film production because money can run out or people can drop out mid production, however the money is all upfront which means all the money is payed out before one ticket for the film is sold.  Unforeseen circumstances that can affect production Unforeseen circumstances that can occur are things like Paul Walker who died on the 30th of November 2013 and Fast and Furious 7 was released in 2015 with Paul in certain scene in t...

Regulations for two media products

Film - BBFC Films are regulated by the BBFC, which means any film that wants to be released has to send its final copy to the BBFC for them to give a certificate and if the certificate is not what the people who made the film wanted the BBFC will give advice on what particular parts to take out of the film to make it the certificate they want. The BBFC does this before the film is released so they don't have as many complaint placed about the amount of violence or inappropriate amount of something. The certificates are U which means suitable for all The PG certificate is the advisement of parental guidance. The 12A certificate is when it is released at the cinema or on DVD but it is only advised to be watched by viewers of 12 years with an parent.
