Final conclusion

In conclusion all pre-production is massively important in media products this helps to divert the risk of making a media product such as a film, TV series, magazine and many others.

Finance is massively important because if the finance is not done and planned to high level it can then result in not having enough money for the film production or film distribution which would be a disappointment after all the work and commitment that has been done. For an example getting copyright before the film is filmed is important because then the team can save money because if the team are getting the copyright permission during production then the person can charge more or say no which means a massive issue. However if it is done before production then there is more of a chance that less money will be spent and if the person says no then it can be corrected.

Logistics is important for a film especially because film is very risky as money is spent on the film before a single ticket has been sold which means if the film doesn't make the money back then there is nothing that can be done because the film is already made and all the money has gone into it. So getting the logistics correct is really important this is because unfortunately things do happen during filming for example Harrison Ford breaking his leg during Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2014. This was an unforeseen circumstance which meant over night someone needed to make a contingency plan and decide how this was going to work and how the team were going to carry on filming. This is important because then they didn't loose any money because of the logistics being ready for something to happen. This meant that the film still came out and was successful and made its money back this was down to important planning and important decisions. There are different things that need to be done in each stage of the film process.

Codes of practice are also have a very important part to play in the film making process such as personnel belonging to a trade union which mean they have a group of members which work in the same field of work the ones mentioned above are Equity, BECTU and PACT. It is important to acknowledge that trade unions are there for bargaining with employers on behalf of there members for different things such as minimum pay and labour contracts. Then if a member has an issue with their employer then they can say to trade union and their trade union will sort the issue out which come times results in going to court. There are also other legal requirements that need to be known when a film is being made such as the rules to working with certain people, animals, having insurance, minimum pay and health and safety rules. There is a code of practice that needs to be followed otherwise there will be serious consequences. The rules on working with children is that the team needs to have a Child Performance Licence if the child is under the age of 16, there are also an amount of hours that the child can work based on their age. There are also rules for the other mentioned in the codes of practice section. This is very important because it makes the film run smoothly if the required licences are already possessed the team it means if they need to have a child actor or actress then the licence will be needed.

Pre-production processes are important because for example a storyboard is needed to show the cast and crew where the camera is going to be and where the actors need to stood this is just a few reasons why a storyboard is needed.
